If you love getting into the ocean on a regular basis, your wetsuit will inevitably need replacing. Got a used wetsuit that’s still intact? Consider donating your retired wetsuit to Valpo Surf Project (VSP), a non-profit that uses surfing to inspire and educate young people in impoverished coastal communities.
We connected with VSP when looking to give our old sample suits a good home and wanted to share their story:
VSP is a US-based 501c3 tax exempt organization that operates in Valparaíso, Chile. Starting in 2010 with 4 surfboards, the program now reaches over 160 students, who receive over 30 hours of monthly programming. We’re excited to hear that they’ll be expanding their program to California in 2017.
By sending them your old wetsuits, you can help them keep their programming going. When making an in-kind donation, donors will need to fill out the form and declare the fair market value of the donated goods. Once you send it back, they will be able to provide you with a donation receipt.
